Notion

Turn any email thread into a Notion task by voice. SayMail fills in the title and notes, links back to the email, and waits for your yes.

2 min read

Your follow-ups tend to live in two places: your calendar and your task system. For a lot of people that task system is Notion, and the friction is always the same. You read a thread, decide it needs to become a task, then copy the subject across, type a line of context, and paste a link back so you can find the email later. SayMail does that part for you.

Save a thread without leaving it

While you are reading a thread, ask SayMail to save it:

YouSave this to my Notion tasks.

SayMail

It's in a Save to Notion draft titled "Launch plan walkthrough" with a short note. Edit anything, or say yes to save.

YouYes.

SayMailSaved to Notion.

No app switch, no copy and paste. The same save is one click from the thread's Actions menu when you would rather use your hands.

Sensible defaults, ready to edit

SayMail opens the draft with the fields already filled in:

  • Title comes from the thread subject, with Re: and Fwd: prefixes cleaned off.
  • Notes carry a short summary of the latest message, with quoted reply trailers stripped out, so you keep the point and lose the clutter.
  • A link back to the email goes into the new page, so you can reopen the original from inside Notion.

Everything is editable before you commit, by voice or by hand. Rename the task, rewrite the note, then say yes.

Set it up once

Connect Notion from your Connections page, then share the databases you want SayMail to write to. Pick one database as your default and every thread is ready to save. Share more than one and the draft adds a "Save to" picker, so you can send a single task somewhere else without changing your default.

Sharing a database

In Notion, open the database you want, then choose ••• → Connections → SayMail. Only databases you share this way are visible to SayMail.

Good to know

  • SayMail writes the page title, your notes, and the link back to the email. Status, priority, and due date stay blank for you to set in Notion the way you already do.
  • Only databases you have shared with the integration appear. Nothing else in your workspace is visible to SayMail.
  • One Notion workspace is connected per mailbox. Connecting a different workspace replaces the previous one.
